Scadanavian soul singer Marie Dahlstrøm just released a refreshed cover of the Phil Collins classic “In The Air”. Dahlstrøm's vocals fill a room effortlessly and this song works perfectly for that. It starts off with soothing brass and vocals that lulls you in and then you’re hit with that old school funk in the best kind of way. The instruments in the background aren’t just there for show. Between the powerful horns, playful keyboard, and guitar riffs, you’d be scared that this artist might get lost in the mix but her authentic voice shines through while also working in a wonderful harmony with all the other players. When most Gen Y’ers think of Phil Collins it’s a conflicting combination of old white people and sexy time music but this cover hits the target as far as being throwback funky but with a modern feel. Keep an eye out for the rest of her stuff on her SoundCloud. Click "read more to watch the video.
