Using the classic loops and samples as a backdrop for his Kane-like cadence and fast paced rhyme style this album is sure to be a favorite for 80's babies, old-school lovers, and hip-hop purists alike. So you miss the golden era? The times when classics were the norm? The times when substance trumped hype? Well, here's one solution in the form of Chicago producer/emcee J.W. Hype, who displays an uncanny ability to channel artists from the first golden era of hip-hop. I'd compare this to the kids who walk around in 2012 dressed entirely in Adidas, wearing gold chains and carrying boomboxes. The similarity to years past is a bit creepy, but admirable and worth at least a glance. It would certainly be interesting to hear what artists such as Big Daddy Kane think of an emcee who emulates them so closely.
