Hip Hop is has always been about innovation. Its enormous growth of relevance in the past 30 or 40 years has been largely due to the genre's raw uniqueness and malleability.
This latest cut from Connect-I-Cut's own J. Nolan is a reminder that sometimes the best form of innovation is to revamp an old style. Coming in with fierce delivery and a style reminiscent of an '03 Rocafella,( Diamonds in the sky!!) Yung B Da Producer, who also produced the beat, delivers a rather amusing verse, filled with smoothly flowing and subtle punchlines. J. Nolan continues the onlsaught with his own impressive bars that evoke memories of young Talib Kweli. With solid music like this and collaborative efforts like "The Upbringing", and a compilation project with Yosoy Records and Urban Outfitters on the way, The Manifest Movement is looking to make their marks in Hip Hop's future with just a little bit of much needed nostalgia.
