"Now as I wander through the city going mad, I see the fruits of planting evidence instead of grass. A swindled generation with no patience, full of swag."
With this track, off of the upcoming Food & Liquor II, Lupe takes on the tone of a weary veteran describing the impossibilities of the corrupt system he finds himself a part of. Dark, yet eloquent, these verses are decidedly pessimistic while remaining reflective. Lupe mourns the faults of society in albums past as well, but this time around his tone seems a bit less hopeful, a bit less optimistic. It would seem that the Lupe Fiasco we heard in Lasers is gone, but I'm not sure exactly what has replaced him.
